Gettysburg 2, Greencastle-Antrim 1: The Warriors scored a pair of late goals to overcome a Blue Devil lead, which resulted in a Mid Penn Colonial victory in Gettysbug on Tuesday night.

Early in the first half, Braelyn Cordell scored the goal for Greencastle (3-4-2, 1-3-2 MPC), with the assist going to Lilah Overcash.

Blue Devil coach Jonathan Lewis said, “We worked really hard and got the first goal. Both teams played hard and it was physical. Gettysburg got those two late goals and we couldn’t match it, but I’m glad my team put up a good, hard fight.”

The Warriors are 6-4-1.

Northern York 3, Greencastle-Antrim 1: The Polar Bears won a key Game 2, 29-27, and finished off the Blue Devils in 4 games to win a Mid Penn Colonial contest Tuesday night in Greencastle.

Northern won the first game 25-17, and the elongated second. G-A (5-5, 4-3 MPC) took the third game 25-19, but the Bears prevailed 25-21 in the final game.

In the serving department for G-A, Emma Nunnelee had 3 aces and Madison McDonald 2, Chloe Young led in points with 10, Kira Johnson had 8 points and McDonald scored 7.

At the net, Jordyn Wagner piled up 12 kills, Hayden Baer had 9, Young 6 and Avery Watson 5. Young had 5 blocks and Ryane Kueppers added 4.

In addition, Johnson (23) and Terryn Bard (12) led in assists, Wagner had 12 digs, Baer and Alyssa Petty each had 8 digs and Johnson added 7.

Gettysburg 1, Greencastle-Antrim 0: The Warriors scored the game’s only goal on a penalty kick and edged the Blue Devils in a Mid Penn Colonial game at Kaley Field on Tuesday night.

“We lost a tough one tonight at home,” G-A coach Ryan Palmer said. “We’ve been here before with a loss to Gettysburg before facing Boiling Springs (on Thursday). We need to rally again just like we did then.”
