GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Chambersburg 3, Cedar Cliff 0: The Trojans picked up a Mid Penn Commonwealth victory over the Colts on Monday evening at CASHS Field House, taking all 3 games, 25-20, 25-15 and 25-13.

“This was a good match considering it was a Monday match,” Chambersburg coach Ty Frelin said. “The girls did what they needed to do tonight. We made the plays when we needed to. Now we need to keep the ball rolling and bring it each night.”

Lexi Poe (16), Nizaya Hawkins (10) and Ava Zeigler (9) had the bulk of the service points for the Trojans (8-7, 4-6 MPC). Zeigler had 25 assists and 10 digs, while Kasey Moser had 20 digs and Kaylie Stull added 14.

At the net, Moser had 9 kills and Hawkins and Kaitlyn Thomas each had 5. Thomas and Hawkins each made one block.

Charlie Kalathas

GIRLS TENNIS
Trojans finish in Mid Penns: Chambersburg players were defeated Monday on the final day of the Mid Penn Conference Class 3A tournament.

At No. 1 singles, Leah Wadel dropped a 6-7, 6-0 match to a player from Mifflin County in a competition for fifth place. Mid Penn gets at least four entries for the District 3 singles championships — if they receive five, then Wadel will qualify because Mifflin County is a District 6 school.

In the championship match at No. 2 singles, Chambersburg’s Charlie Kalathas lost to a girl from Hershey, 6-3, 6-0.

Amora Lopez

FIELD HOCKEY
Carlisle 4, Chambersburg 2: The Trojans scored more than one goal in a game for the fourth time this season, but it wasn’t quite enough to beat the Thundering Herd in a Mid Penn Commonwealth matchup at Trojan Stadium on Monday evening.

Jaxin Frazer tallied both goals for Chambersburg (1-14, 0-13 MPC), one unassisted and one helped by Reagan Barrett.

Trojan goalie Lacey Mooney made 21 saves, while defenders Amora Lopez (2) and Addy Brubaker (1) made defensive saves.

For Carlisle (7-8), Sephira Garco scored 3 goals and Myla Nealy had one.
