BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Trojans grab 4th place: Julian Clark placed third and Chambersburg was 4th in the team standings at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday.
“We had all eight varsity runners run 18 flat or faster today and they haven’t even started to taper their training and mileage yet for the postseason,” Trojan coach Jim Boyer said. “I would have like to see us finish a little better, but Mifflin County and Lower Dauphin are two strong teams we’ll see again next weekend at the Mid Penn championships.”
Clark trailed only a duo from Mifflin County, with his third-place time a solid 15:47.9. The defending state champion for the Huskies, Carter Smith, won in 15:16.4.
Boyer said, “Julian just keeps wowing, getting better and better with every race. He ran an incredibly strong last two miles.”
Also for the Trojans, Boston Vincenti took 34th (16:48.8), Cole Lehman was 45th (17:02.4); Aiden Alleman was 56th (17:18.2), Tobias Willson placed 65th (17:27.9), Aden Goshorn was 75th (17:39.7) and Aaron Goshorn took 87th (17:57.0).
