Chbg. roundup: Girls soccer suffers tough loss

Penn Manor 2, Chambersburg 1: A late goal by the Comets dealt the Trojans a frustrating non-league defeat on Friday night at Trojan Stadium.

Bree Paetow

Penn Manor (3-0-1) scored on a header with about 15 minutes left in the game to take a 1-0 lead.

But 6 minutes later Chambersburg (2-3) tied the score. Marley Onomastico brought the ball down the wing and sent it into the box. Maddie Mills put a touch on the ball to get it to Bree Paetow, who drilled it into the net.

“Unfortunately, with three minutes to go, Penn Manor played a ball through to their right winger, who was able to finish it off,” Trojan coach Paul Unruh said. “The loss seems cruel because the performance and focus was there throughout.

“We had a great game collectively, frustrating their attack most of the game.”
