Southern Fulton Shuts Out Hancock in Non-Conference Match

The Southern Fulton varsity volleyball team continued its strong start to the season on Friday evening, defeating Hancock in straight sets to improve their overall record to 5-2. The Lady Indians controlled the pace throughout the contest, posting set scores of 25-19, 25-13, and 25-22 to secure the 3-0 victory.

Southern Fulton established momentum early in the opening set, using aggressive serving and a balanced attack to build a steady lead. Hancock rallied late, but the Lady Indians closed out the frame, 25-19. The second set saw Southern Fulton take complete command, as their serving pressure and net play overwhelmed the opposing defense in a convincing 25-13 win. Hancock put together its strongest effort in the third set, but Southern Fulton was able to hold off the late surge to finish the sweep, 25-22.

The Lady Indians were led by Claire Harvey, who recorded 10 service points, 9 kills, 3 blocks, 1 assist, and 4 digs in an all-around standout performance. At the net, Bailey Hull added 9 kills and 4 blocks while also contributing 5 points and 5 digs. Setter Kennedy Hixon ran the offense efficiently, dishing out 19 assists while adding 7 points and 2 digs.

From the service line, Lakyin Hixson tallied 10 points and 3 digs, while Elsie Murray chipped in 8 points, 1 kill, and 3 digs. Kamryn Pittman provided 4 points, 3 kills, 1 assist, and 2 digs, and Alexis Johnson added 2 kills, 1 assist, and 1 dig to round out the team effort.

In the junior varsity match, Southern Fulton improved to 3-3 on the season with a dominant 2-0 sweep over Hancock, taking the sets by scores of 25-15 and 25-9.
