McConnellsburg-The Spartans (10-9) hosted the Northern Bedford County Panthers but fell behind in the fifth inning 4-2 on Thursday.
The Spartans got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning after Kade Gress singled to center field, and Kohen Hall grounded out, each scoring one run.
The Panthers captured the lead, 4-2, in the top of the fifth when a ground out, scored one run, a home run scored two, and a double scored one run.
Kohen Hall stepped on the mound first for the Spartans and took the loss. He allowed four hits and four runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking four. Ty Kagarise began the game for the Panthers. He took the win and gave up four hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking four.
Kade Gress and Kohen Hall were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for the Spartans. Gress, went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Next up, McConnellsburg travels for a final regular season game, a non-conference game, to Tussey Mountain on Friday at 430 PM.
