MARION — The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers were plagued by walks and errors on Monday in an 18-8 loss to Shalom Christian in a non-league baseball game.
The Blazers (0-2) fell behind early and made a late-game comeback before Shalom scored five runs in the last two innings.
“Offensively, we were better making contact – cut out strikeouts in half from the first game,” Blazers coach Ed McBeth said. “Defensively, we had six errors and our pitchers walked 11 batters – recipe for disaster.”
For the Blazers, Scott Beckman had two hits, including a double, and drove in a pair of runs. Jensen Henninger added two hits, including a double. Gage Brookens scored three runs.
