Jr catcher, Austin Mann, drove in six runs on two hits to lead Southern Fulton (4-0, 2-0) past Everett 18-6 on Monday in Everett. Mann hit a long home run to left field in the third scoring three, singled in the second scoring two, and hit a sacrifice fly in the first scoring one.
The Indians got on the board in the top of the first inning after Mark Fitz singled to center field, Mann hit a sacrifice fly, and Kaiden Schriever singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
Southern added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when Joel Fitz singled, scoring one run, Paul Hendershot hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Mann singled, scoring two runs.
The Indians erupted for six more runs on seven hits in the top of the third inning. Joel Fitz tripled, scoring two runs, Jett Burger singled, scoring one run, and Mann’s exclamation homer to left field, scored three runs.
Everett tried to mount a rally by scoring five runs on five hits in the bottom of the third inning. The Indians distanced themselves for good by scoring five runs on three hits in the top of the fifth inning. Fitz singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, and Trentin Cain doubled, scoring two runs.
Trentin Cain stepped on the hill first for the Indians. The hurler allowed three hits and four runs over two innings, striking out four and walking two. Brooks Norris tossed two innings of scoreless ball for Southern Fulton in relief. The reliever gave up one hit, striking out one and walking none.
The Indians collected 17 hits in the game. Mark Fitz and Trentin Cain each collected three hits for Southern Fulton. Joel Fitz,Jett Burger, Kaiden Schriever, and Colt Mann each collected multiple hits for the Southern Fulton Indians.
The Indians welcome the Tussey Mountain Titans in another ICC cross divisional on Friday at 4:30pm..
