McConnellsburg Tames Fannett-Metal

McConnellsburg 90, Fannett-Metal 31. On Wednesday, January 15th, the Spartans traveled to Fannett-Metal to challenge the Tigers in a conference game. They simply outhustled, outstripped, and outpaced the host, breaking a season single-game scoring record and capturing their tenth straight win.

The first quarter ended with the Spartans in full command, 25-6. By halftime, the Spartans had posted 25 more points to set themselves at an untouchable point, leading 50-13. Starting the second half, the mercy rule was in effect with a running clock. After three, the Spartans led 74-24 and closed the night in quick fashion 59 ahead, their second-highest points spread.

The Spartans’ 23 defensive steals robbed the Tigers of their offensive prowess.  The Spartans’ scoring was led by junior power forward Brayden Ramsey, with a double-double night of 31 points and 10 assists, flanked by guards Dom Jefferson (20) and Hoyt Glenn (18).

This victory continues the Spartan’s (11-1 overall, 3-0 ICC South) impressive season at just over mid-season, including win stats such as 10th of 10+ points, 6th of 30 or more points, 5th of 40+ points, and 3rd of 50+ points.
