McConnellsburg Trounces Everett

McConnellsburg 49 Everett 19.  The Spartans traveled to Everett for a conference game on Friday, January 10th, and won every quarter to run away with a 30-point commanding win.

The Spartans put on a 13-point first quarter, and the defense stifled the scoreless Warriors, who gave up the ball on turnovers, picks, and easy missed shots.  The second quarter had a slow tempo for both teams, 12 to 6; the Spartans led 25-6 at halftime. The third quarter ended 41-15 with loud and boisterous moments as there were moments I could have been at a field hockey game for the many times that the whistle was blown. The clock went to continuous run partway in the fourth quarter as the Spartans reached a 30-point spread 45-15, with the game concluding at 49-19.

This victory brings the Spartans’ (9-1 overall, 2-0 ICC South) season win streak to eight straight, eighth by 20+ points, sixth straight by 20+ points, and fifth by 30 or more points.

The Spartans had three players in double figures, led by Brayden Ramsey (15), Shaffer Earley (13), and Hoyt Glenn (10), with Earley and Glenn having a double-double night.
