Greencastle-Antrim 61, East Pennsboro 30: The Blue Devils knocked down 5 of 7 from 3-point range in the first quarter, took a 21-10 lead over the Panthers, and used that good start to pick up a Mid Penn Colonial victory at home Friday night.

Greencastle (6-5, 4-2 MPC) had 8 players get into the scoring column and 3 reached double figures. G-A produced a good night shooting game, hitting 22 of 46 from the field, including 7-for-17 on threes, and sank 10 of 4 free throws.

Ellie Bigler scored a career-high 13 points (on 6 of 7 shooting) and added 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Callie Izer also reached a career high with 11 points, making all 4 of her shots from the field and hitting 3 of 4 foul shots.

Also for the Blue Devils, Sophie Fries scored 10 points (5-for-6 shooting), Eva Martin had 8 points, 4 boards, 4 assists and 3 steals, Meadow Gambacurta put up 7 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, and Kiersten Swain had 7 points and 3 boards.

BOYS BASKETBALL
East Pennsboro 54, Greencastle-Antrim 47: The Blue Devils led by 1 at halftime, but were outscored 33-24 in the second half to drop a Mid Penn Colonial contest in Enola on Friday night.

Carter McCauley scored 14 of his game-high 20 points in the second half. That was countered by East Penn’s Ali Alami, who tallied 12 of his 19 in the fourth quarter.

Also for G-A (4-7, 2-4 MPC), Alex Albright knocked in 14 points.  Hayden Lay added 12 for the Panthers (10-4, 5-2 MPC).
