GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 3, Shalom Christian 0: The Blue Devils made quick work of Shalom Christian in a non-league match on Thursday evening at home, taking games of 25-7, 25-13 and 25-12.
Kinzee Hudson put up 13 points, including 5 aces, and had 9 digs for Greencastle (16-2), while Abby Eagler came up with 9 kills, 12 points and 10 digs, and Kylie Kerns piled up 23 assists, 6 kills and 6 digs.
Others who found their way onto the stat sheet included Emma Pool (5 kills, 2 blocks); Wren Roberts (19 points, 6 digs); Alaina Garling (5 kills, 6 assists) and Morgan Kline (7 digs).
The Blue Devils have worked their way back to the No. 1 position in the District 3 Class 3A rankings.
FIELD HOCKEY
Gettysburg 2, Greencastle-Antrim 1, OT: The Warriors picked up a goal in overtime to hand the Blue Devils a tough Mid Penn Colonial defeat on Thursday evening in Gettysburg.
Greencastle (5-11, 3-8 MPC) took an early lead on an unassisted goal by Natalie Medina.
But Gettysburg tied it up in the fourth quarter, then won it on OT.
“Carlee Knepper was a constant on defense as a midfielder and stepped up on the fly to the defensive corners,” G-A coach Keara Allshouse said. “Acacia Long had a defensive save and was a force of nature on defense.”
