G-A roundup: Volleyball team cruises past Mustangs

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 3, West Perry 0: The Blue Devils kept rolling in the Mid Penn Colonial, racking up a shutout win over the Mustangs on Thursday night at home, taking wins of 25-11, 25-13 and 25-12.

Kinzee Hudson had a great night at the service line, putting up 12 points, with 5 aces, and also chipped in 4 assists. Alaina Garling led in assists with 11 and also had 11 points. Morgan Kline added 10 points at the line, three of which were aces.

Also for Greencastle (9-1, 6-0 MPC), Abby Eagler put down 15 kills, Wren Roberts had 5 and Jordyn Wagner added 4, while Kyler Kerns had 5 assists.

West Perry 8, Greencastle-Antrim 0: The unbeaten Mustangs sent the Blue Devils to a defeat Thursday afternoon at Kaley Field in a Mid Penn Colonial game.

Greencastle coach Keara Allshouse said, “We ended the game on a better note than we started it.

“Jensen Keefer, Natalie Medina and Camryn Guthrie did an excellent job at putting pressure on in the fourth quarter as forwards.”

The Blue Devils are 2-5 (1-4 MPC); West Perry is the top Class 1A team in District 3 and is 11-0.

GIRLS SOCCER
Boiling Springs 2, Greencastle-Antrim 1: The Blue Devils fell behind 2-1 in the first half and could not come up with the equalizer in the second half and suffered a loss in a makeup non-league game Thursday night.

The Bubblers are 9-1 and ranked No. 1 in Class 2A in District 3. Greencastle falls to 7-3-1.

Brooke Guthrie scored the lone goal for G-A, which was unassisted. Goalkeeper Lexi Nelson did her part in trying to hold Boiling Springs down, making 18 saves.
