Chambersburg, Mechanicsburg 1: Lightning prevented the second half from being played, so the Trojans and Wildcats had to settle for a 1-1 tie in a Mid Penn Commonwealth match at Trojan Stadium.
“Overall, our performance was a big improvement over Monday night,” Trojan coach Paul Unruh said. “We were more focused defensively and more cohesive in the attack.”
Chambersburg (0-1-1, 0-1-1 MPC) got on the board first, following a corner kick. Kadence Decker set up the goal with a pass to Malia Cramer and she slotted her shot into the net.
Mechanicsburg tied the score 7 minutes later.
BOYS SOCCER
Mechanicsburg 1, Chambersburg 0: The Trojans couldn’t finish on several quality opportunities and were shut out by the Wildcats in a Mid Penn Commonwealth clash on the road Wednesday night.
“Another tough game, but I thought we definitely took a step in the right direction tonight,” Chambersburg coach Corey Grove said. “I honestly thought we were a bit unlucky not to get something out of tonight. We had several great chances, but couldn’t find the back of the net.
“It will come; we just need to be patient.”
The Trojans (0-2, 0-2 MPC) out-shot Mechanicsburg, 10-7 and had one more corner kick (4-3). Chambersburg goalkeepers Tyson Shanholtz made 3 saves.
