Waynesboro walks off win over James Buchanan

Mason Gochenour’s two-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning snapped a 3-3 tie to give Waynesboro a 4-3 win over the James Buchanan Rockets Thursday at Waynesboro,

James Buchanan struck first with a solo run in the top of the first on a bases-loaded walk to Jake Miller.

The Indians took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third on an RBI double from Logan Clappsaddle and an RBI single by Gochenour.

Waynesboro picked up a run in the bottom of the fourth to go up 3-1.

The Rockets tied the game in the top of the sixth on a sacrifice fly from Drew Crouse and a run-producing single from Carter Hissong.

Parker Summers led James Buchanan with three hits.

For the Indians, Clappsaddle went 3 for 4 with an RBI, and Gochenour was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI.

Drew Crouse pitched 6 2/3 innings for the Rockets, allowing three runs and five hits, three walks, and three strikeouts.

John Kahl pitched five innings for Waynesboro, surrendering three runs (two earned), seven hits, two strikeouts, and a walk.

James Buchanan will play at Biglerville on Friday.

Waynesboro hosts Northern York Monday in their final home game of the regular season.
