Chambersburg 15, Bishop McDevitt 5: The Trojans let the Crusaders get to within 6-4 early in the third quarter, then outscored McDevitt 9-1 from that point on and claimed a non-league victory Monday night in Harrisburg.
“They got to 6-4 and then Shea Makosy took over,” Chambersburg coach Joey WIlmot said. “He ended up with five goals, three assists, seven groundballs and caused five turnovers. It was about as dominant of an individual effort as I’ve ever seen.
“Owen Shearer was fantastic on defense. He caused seven turnovers, which ties Makosy’s single-game record that he’s done twice.”
Logan Mulkey had missed the last 3 games, but came back to score 4 goals. Sam Kinkleman had 3 goals and 2 assists and passed Eric DeLong for 10th all-time in career points (116 currently). Riley Harmon had a goal, an assist and 5 groundballs and is now 10th all-time in assists.
Also for the Trojans (7-7), Matt Tucker had a goal and an assist, Ryan Cosey had 2 assists, Garrett Iser scored once, Chase Martin had 4 caused turnovers and goalie Kristian Freeman made 8 saves.
