The James Buchanan Rockets came out on top of the Shippensburg Greyhounds 3-2 in a classic pitchers duel Monday at Mercersburg. Jake Miller went the distance for the Rockets allowing two runs on seven hits, walking one and striking out four. Troy Chamberlin pitched a complete game for the Greyhounds allowing three runs on five hits, two walks and seven strikeouts.
Troy Chamberlin got Shippensburg on the board in the top of the first leading off the game with a home run to give the Greyhounds a 1-0 lead..
The Rockets responded in the bottom of the inning as Jimmy Bell hit a two run homer to give the Rockets a lead they never relinquished.
James Buchanan added a run in the third to go up 3-1 Shippensburg cut it to 3-2 in the fourth, neither was able to score again.
Hayden Sanchez was 2 for 3 for the Rockets, the only player to put up multiple hits.
