Chambersburg 13, Mifflin County 0: The Trojans picked up their first shutout win since 2011, and only the second in program history Monday night at Trojan Stadium with a win over the Huskies.
“We were up 8-0 after one period and 12-0 at halftime, so we got a bunch of JV guys some varsity minutes in the second half,” Chambersburg coach Joey Wilmot said.
For the Trojans (2-0), Logan Mulkey had 3 goals and 3 assists, Shea Makosy had 2 goals, 2 assists and 7 groundballs, Riley Harmon was 6-for-6 on faceoffs and contributed 4 assists, and Sam Kunkleman had 2 goals and an assist.
Also, Garrett Iser scored twice, Brax Makosy had a goal and an assist, and Jackson Beardsley and Matt Tucker scored a goal each.
BOYS TENNIS
Red Land 4, Chambersburg 1: The Trojans managed only one win and were defeated by the Patriots in a Mid Penn Commonwealth encounter on the road Monday afternoon.
Ian Flores was dominant at No. 1 singles for Chambersburg (1-1, 0-1 MPC), blanking Joel Weikert, 6-0, 6-0.
Both Trojan doubles teams fell in 3-set matches, Camren Lesznar and Lance Jacobs at No. 1 (7-6, 4-6, 6-4) and Ethan Brandt and Dhruv Patel at No. 2 (2-6, 7-6, 6-3).
