Shippensburg led by three at the break over visiting Dover but outscored the Eagles 37-24 in the second half to close the regular season with a 65-49 win.

Dover jumped up earl 6-0 as the Hounds started, as they have so often, slow, but Trae Kater ignited the Hounds with a three pointer from the left wing at the 5:25 mark.  Kater’s third three of the quarter put the Hounds up 15-12 after one.  Schlade (listed at 6’7”) lead the Eagles in quarter one with seven points.

A 13-13 second quarter sent the game to the break with the Hounds still up three.

Fast break layups by Mason Fogelsonger and Cole Trn push the second half lead to 34-25.  Trn’s layup followed by a three pointer at the 2:53 mark put he Hounds up 41-28.  Dover chipped away with a 10-5 run to close the quarter and cut the lead to eight.

Graison Michajluk’s completion of a three point play and his assist on Trn’s three pointer put the Hounds up 56-41 just under six minutes to play.  Dover got no closer and the Hounds picked up the win.

Shippensburg started all five seniors Kater and Michajluk were joined by Thayne Stine, Reid Getic and Jaysaun Gonzalez.

The Hounds shot 45.5 % from the field and held Dove to 29%.  Trn led the Hounds with 18, Kater 17 and Fogelsonger 10.  Schlade lead Dover with 15, but just four in the second half, Smyers added 13 and Cooper 10.

Shippensburg ended up with a 33-26 edge on the boards (16-9 in second half).  Kater had ten and Jackson Stought chipped in 7.  Schlade had 12 for the Eagles, but just two in the second half.  The Hounds had 15 assists, Trn with five and Kater four.
