G-A roundup: Mia Libby reaches 1,000-point mark

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 69, Gettysburg 25: Mia Libby had a night to remember for the Blue Devils on Tuesday night in a home Mid Penn Colonial game against the Warriors.

Mia Libby

On Senior Night, Libby had her first career triple double — scoring 22 points and adding 10 rebounds and 10 steals.

Her point total also pushed her over 1,000 points for her career (she now has 1,012), making her the sixth G-A girls basketball player to reach that milestone.

The senior guard scored points 999 and 1,000 in a perfect way.  A trap led to a steal by Rylee Henson, who flung the ball into the front court to Haley Noblit, who hit Libby with a bounce pass for a fast break layup.

A fan remarked after the game, “It couldn’t have happened in a better way —  Rylee to Haley to Mia — that has been Blue Devil basketball for the last two years.”

Gettysburg (2-17) actually broke out to a 7-0 lead before pressure defense and 3-point shooting enabled G-A (17-1, 12-1 MPC) to assert control. Six different Blue Devils hit 3-pointers and the team total was 12.

Henson scored 19 points (4 treys) and had 5 rebounds and 4 steals; Noblit hit 3 3-pointers and had 14 points, 6 assists and 3 steals; Kylie Kerns scored 5 points and had 6 boards; and Ainsley Swindell grabbed 7 rebounds.
