Waynesboro wins big over Shippensburg

The Waynesboro Indians jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead and never looked backed and rolled to a 62-31 win over Shippensburg Friday night at Waynesboro to improve to 10-1 overall and 6-0 in the Mid Penn Colonial.

Waynesboro dominated, gaining a 20-8 lead after one quarter, and lead 39-19 at the half and 56-27 after the third quarter.

The Indians  got a big night from Ryan Shaffer who scored 20 points including two 3s, Michael Young had 11 points including a trio of three pointers. Tanyon Shaull had nine points including a three point shot, all coming in the first half. Jaylon Bean contributed six points. Waynesboro had nine players reach the scoring column.

Trae Kater led the Greyhounds with nine points, Jackson Stought had 8,and Thayne Stine scored five for the Greyhounds.

The loss drops Shippensburg to 5-4 on the year. The Greyhounds will play at Chambersburg Saturday night in the Dunks for Drew Tournament at 7:30.

Waynesboro plays at Greencastle Tuesday night.
