Southern Fulton advances to semifinals with 8-5 win over Clarion-Limestone

The Southern Fulton Indians (20-5) punched their ticket to the PIAA “A” Semifinals with a come from behind win vs the Clarion Limestone Lions Thursday night at 1st Commonwealth Field in Homer City, Pa.

The game was tied at five with SoFo Indians batting in the bottom of the fifth when Levi Souders singled with bases loaded on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

In the second inning, Clarion-Limestone got their offense started. Kohen Kemmer drove in two when he singled to right field.

The Indians were down 4-0 in the fourth when Trayton Younker jump started the Indian offense with a 3 run bomb to left field. SoFo then evened things up at four when Kasey Fitz drew a bases loaded walk. They scored the go ahead run on a fielders choice ground ball.

Konner Pittman earned the win for SoFo Indians. Pittman allowed four hits and one run over four innings, striking out five and walking zero.

Tommy Smith took the loss for Clarion-Limestone. The pitcher went five innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits and striking out four.

Holden Stotler started the game for SoFo Indians. The righthander lasted three innings, allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out two and walking one.

SoFo Indians saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Younker, Souders, Dane Harvey, and Pittman all managed multiple hits for SoFo Indians. Pittman, Harvey, Souders, and Younker each collected two hits to lead SoFo Indians.

The Indians will now take on the District 9 champions Dubois Central Catholic on Monday, June 13 at a place and time TBA.
