BOYS LACROSSE
Trinity 17, Chambersburg 8: The Trojans kept it close through three quarters against a good Shamrocks team, but Trinity had a 7-1 scoring advantage in the fourth quarter of a non-league game at Trojan Stadium on Wednesday night.
“We lost, but we played great,” Chambersburg coach Joey Wilmot said. “We only trailed 6-5 at the half and it was still 10-7 going into the fourth. But they just had way too much talent and depth for us. They have probably the best faceoff guy we’ve had in our conference in the past decade and they won faceoffs tonight, 27-2. He’s really good.”
Sam Kunkleman fired in 4 goals for the Trojans, and Dom Marangoni posted 3 goals, 3 assists and 4 groundballs. Shea Makosy had 2 assists and 4 groundballs and Chase Martin contributed 2 groundballs and 2 caused turnovers and Riley Harmon scored a goal.
Wilmot said, “I’m really proud of the way our guys are improving every day. Dom Marangoni, Shea Makosy and Sam Kunkleman all had great games, Chase Martin was awesome all night on defenses, and most everyone else had a good game.”
The Trojans (4-7) opened the season 4-1, but have dropped six straight.
