Chambersburg roundup: Rough night at foul line hurts Trojan girls

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Carlisle 52, Chambersburg 34: A scoring outburst in the first quarter by Ryleigh Poole gave the Thundering Herd a big lead and Carlisle rode that advantage to a Mid Penn Commonwealth win over Chambersburg on Wednesday night.

Poole scored 13 of her 21 points in the opening quarter as she canned a trio of 3-pointers.

Chambersburg (1-4, 1-2 MPC) paraded to the foul line 27 times, but could only manage to connect on 7 of the free throws.

Joelle Rheam scored a career-high 16 points for the Trojans, including rattling in four 3-pointers. Allie List also scored 8 points for Chambersburg.
