Greencastle-Antrim 3, Gettysburg 2: The Blue Devils captured the deciding fifth game 15-12 to pull out a non-league win over Gettysburg on the road Wednesday evening.
“It was not the best showing on our end, but they stuck it out and I’m proud of how they pulled through,” Greencastle coach Corry Eagler said.
The teams split the first four games, with the Blue Devils winning the first and third and the Warriors the second (30-28) and fourth.
The G-A leaders in kills were Kiley Burkholder (11), Olalla Sanchez (10) and Kate Furnish (9, and Lauren Pool had 7 kills and a block. Ryleigh Davis and Madeline Eagler each had 5 aces and the leaders in service points were Kalea Fugate (23), Davis (15), Eagler (14) and Alayna Welsh and Burkholder 11 each.
Eagler had 38 assists the leaders in digs were Burkholder (19), Welsh (11) and Fugate (8).
Greencastle (11-6), winners of five straight matches, ends the regular season tonight vs. Waynesboro, and has reached No. 12 in the District 3 rankings.
