Chambersburg roundup: LD hands Trojans a loss in tennis

Lower Dauphin 5, Chambersburg 0: The Falcons won each of the matches in straight sets in a non-league match Friday afternoon at Norlo Park, but the Trojans (0-2) were much more competitive than in their opener Wednesday.

At No. 1 singles, Sam Vessah was defeated by AJ Kessley, 6-4, 6-0; at No. 2, Kadyn Taylor fell 6-2, 6-0 to Derwin Merca and at No. 3, Marcus Rahauser was defeated 6-1, 6-3 by Joseph Goduto.

Chambersburg’s No. 1 doubles team of Hank Stouffer and Paul Hance picked up the most points in a match, succumbing 6-3, 6-4, while at No. 2, David Sandell and Noah Yost lost 6-2, 6-3.
