Chambersburg roundup: Volleyball team picks up 1st victory

Chambersburg 3, Altoona 0: After two defeats to open the season, the Trojans responded with a win on Senior Night, blanking Altoona 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-21) in a Mid Penn Commonwealth Division match Monday night at CASHS Field House.

“Even though we continue to make a lot of unforced errors, we also did what we had to do to take the win,” Chambersburg coach Ty Frelin said. “Congrats to all eight of our seniors for being great contributors to our program.”

Robyn Stepler put together a good all-around match, racking up 8 service points, 7 kills, 10 assists and 10 digs.

Also, Willa Moats produced 9 points, 6 kills and 15 assists, Courtney Proulx had 7 points and 14 digs, Marlee Wrights had 2 blocks and 6 kills, Rachael Meyers contributed 5 kills, and Kate Etter had 6 digs.
