Golf roundup: Trojan girls are 4th; ‘Boro wins Colonial match

Chambersburg takes 4th: The Mid Penn Conference held a girls match at Hershey Country Club’s East Course on Tuesday and the Trojans  finished fourth among the five teams that competed. Camp Hill won the event, led by medalist Paige Richter, who shot 78 on the par 71 course.

For Chambersburg (2-4), Heather Sanbower tied for sixth place by shooting an 88. She was in pretty good shape until taking a triple and a double bogey on here final two holes.

Trojan coach Mark Yost said, “Heather did really well, but unfortunately she had a bad last two holes. Megan Brandt brought her score down from last time and Emma Tolbert knocked off 10 strokes from her last match.”

Brandt shot 91 to place 10th, while Tolbert carded a 105 and a tie for 17th.

BOYS GOLF
Waynesboro wins again: The Indians produced three of the top five scores to capture their second Mid Penn Colonial Division match. Devin Smith fired a 3-under par 70 at Chambersburg Country Club to win medalist honors by five strokes.

Also for ‘Boro, Evan Stein was third with a 78 and Dylan Byers took fifth with an 81.

Shippensburg’s Stephen Lucas was sixth with his 87, James Buchanan’s Larry Singer and Waynesboro’s Kellan Smith tied for 8th with 91s, while Greencastle-Antrim had three players shoot 97 — Levi Tennison, Cooper Swam and Sydney Barnes.
