Blazer girls drop tight 3-2 contest

HAGERSTOWN, Md. – The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers came up a tad short in three tight games and dropped a 3-2 decision to Heritage Academy Tuesday in a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference girls volleyball match.

The Blazers (0-2, 0-2 MDCC) dropped a 26-24 decision in the first game before coming back to tie the match with a 25-16 win. Heritage won another close one, 25-23, but the Blazers forced the decisive fifth game with a 25-18 victory. Heritage prevailed in the final set, 15-13.

Stat leaders for the Blazers were Regan Bard with 17 assists, Maddie Eberly with six kills and 12 assists, Emilee Beam with 11 kills and Ryleigh Timmons with 16 digs and four aces.

Also, Morgan Householder added six dis and five kills, Beam contributed nine digs, Kendra Bard had five kills and Niki Schussler had seven digs.

Heritage won the JV match, 2-0.
