HAGERSTOWN, MD – The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers racked up six first-half goals and cruised to a 10-2 victory over Heritage Academy Tuesday in a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference boys soccer game.
“We played a more complete game tonight,” Blazers coach Stan Hott said. “Wyatt Pine, Mario Wiesman and Max Crawford worked well for each other tonight. All of them were very selfless with the ball.”
Pine netted four goals and Wiesman added a pair for the Blazers (2-1, 1-1 MDCC). Also finding the net were Crawford, Josh Rowe, Isaac Kauffeldt and Caleb Eckert.
Wiesman had three assists, Pine and Ryan Winters contributed two each, and Eckert, Noah Randolph and Caleb Decker added one each.
“It was good to get all the players playing time,” Hott said. “The team played for each other and not for themselves. If we can keep this up, we should be able to get the other pieces to fall in place before the end of the year.”
The Blazers held an 8-1 advantage in corners, and goalkeepers Gabe Beckering and Aaron Minnier combined for the victory.
