Shippensburg Eases Past Blue Devils, 69-48

Shippensburg—Greyhound head coach Ray Staver was honored before tonight’s game for his 400th career win Tuesday night, then his team went out and got him number 401 in a 69-48 win over Greencastle-Antrim in Mid Penn Colonial action at Shippensburg.

Isaiah Houser hit two-three point shots to start the game and the Greyhounds never trailed in picking up their 13th win of the season against 3 losses.

Collin Taylor scored 8 of his game high 18 in the second quarter as the Greyhounds were able to stretch their lead to 12, 37-25 at the half.

Coach Staver said, “We have a game tomorrow,(Saturday afternoon), so we subbed a little more and a little earlier than normal and we didn’t press as much as we might have to try to conserve a little bit of energy but still get the job done.”

Shippensburg increased the lead to 16 at the end of the third and both teams cleared the benches in the fourth.

Taylor led the Greyhounds, (9-1MPC) with 18 points and was joined in double figures by Jeremy Thomas with 13 and Houser with 10.

For the Blue Devils, (2-14, 1-10MPC) Thomas Lewis led the way with 18 including four-three’s.

Shippensburg, which currently sits in fifth place in the 5A district standings, travels to Cumberland Valley for a Saturday afternoon game.  The Eagles are 14-2 and currently in 2nd place in the 6A district standings.

The game can be heard on Mid Penn Broadcasting with air time around 2:15.
