HAGERSTOWN, Md. – The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers outscored Broadfording Christian Academy 18-0 in the first quarter en route to a 47-9 victory Tuesday evening in a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference girls basketball game.
“It was a solid win and everyone contributed,” said Blazers coach Dylan Ward, whose team improved to 6-2, 2-1 MDCC.
Kyleigh Teal scored 13 points, Laurel Reitz added 12 and Amber Yanosik 11 for the Blazers. Also scoring were Jalen Moats with six points, Sarah Vandersleen with three and Mariah Peck with two. Moats led with five rebounds, and Reitz made five steals.
Over the weekend, the Blazers placed third in the Mercersburg Academy tournament.
On Friday they lost to Mercersburg 62-30. Blazer scoring: Yanosik with 16, Teal with 10, Vandersleen and Mollee Stake with two each.
In the consolation game, the Blazers beat Holton-Arms 41-31. Blazer scoring: Teal with 19, Yanosik with 12, Reitz with five, Stake with three and Vandersleen with two.
