CHAMBERSBURG – The Trojan girls welcomed Carlisle to town Wednesday night and were able to roll to a 47-25 win over the Herd.

Madi Flythe
Chambersburg (2-4, 1-3 MPC) only led 7-4 after the first quarter, but outscored the Herd 17-3 in the second period.
Due to internal problems in Carlisle’s program, the Herd only dressed 7 players, had only one normal starter available and did not play a JV contest. Herd coach Scott Mitchell declined to comment on the issue.
All 12 players on the Chambersburg varsity roster found time on the court, and were led by Madi Flythe’s 11 points. KiKi Walker added 9 and Bre’ya Clopper chipped in 8 for the Lady Trojans.
“It’s good to get some of the younger JV players to come up, get them some time and get them on the court a little bit, get them a little bit more comfortable as well,” Chambersburg coach Justin English said.
Of Carlisle’s 25 points, 16 came from Rachel Bell.
“(Bell’s) a great kid, she’s a hard worker, she always puts forth her best effort,” Mitchell said. “Even though she only scored 16 points, she did a really good job of trying to incorporate other people into the offense with some of her passes.”
The Lady Trojans made five threes, and prevented Carlisle from scoring a field goal in the second quarter.
Chambersburg will look to improve their record against perennial Commonwealth-power Central Dauphin on Friday.
“Our whole thing for this week is we have to execute our stuff well and that’s still going to be the theme going into Friday night,” English said. “We just have to make sure that we do our stuff to the best of our ability, and not worry so much about who were playing, or where we are playing.”
