Blazers hand Shalom 5-2 loss

The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers scored in the opening minute of each half and defeated Shalom Christian 5-2 Tuesday evening at Shalom in a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference boys soccer game.

The Blazers (4-4-2, 3-2-2 MDCC) took the lead just seconds into the game when Max Crawford finished from in front of the goal by sending the ball into the net.

CVCS dominated play throughout the first half and went on to take a 4-0 halftime lead.

Isaac Kauffeldt drilled a shot from outside the 18-yard line to make the score 2-0, and just moments later, Caleb Eckert scored after a corner kick. Kenneth Hott finished the scoring in the first half and then scored almost immediately after the second-half kickoff to make the score 5-0.

“We are getting better,” Blazers coach Stan Hott said. “Josh Rowe and Elijah Randolph had big games.”

Elijah Randolph assisted on four of the five Blazer goals, and his brother Noah assisted on the other.

Jack Gabler made 10 saves in goal for the Blazers.
