Southern Fulton Girls Soccer Loses a Heartbreaker

Rockwood 3, Southern Fulton 2 DOT

Shanksville – The Lady Indians of Southern Fulton ended their season Monday night in a loss to top-ranked Rockwood. The second-year team went down swinging in double overtime of the District 5 semifinal with a final score of 3-2. Goal scorers for the Indians were Grace Mosemann and Kayleigh Cirtwell, while Lydia Hiller had an assist. Goalkeeper Bailey Burkett had 11 saves in the contest. The Lady Indians’ team effort is reflected as they finished 13-7 overall for the season; a marked improvement over last year. Rockwood will move on to the District V Championship on Oct. 31 against the winner of Windber/Conemaugh Township at a site and time to be determined.
