The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers scored a goal in each half and came away with a 2-0 victory over Grace Academy in a key Mason-Dixon Christian Conference boys soccer game Tuesday.
Ken Hott put the Blazers on the board early with his 13th goal of the season. Jack Gabler provided the assist. With about eight minutes left in the game, Hott centered a pass to Joel Vandersleen, who drilled in a shot from in front of the goal.
“Joel was the player of the match,” CVCS coach Stan Hott said. “The heat had the team down, but Joel played through the heat and was like an Energizer bunny.”
Eli Black registered the shutout in goal for the Blazers, who are 5-1 overall, 5-0 in the MDCC and have four shutouts on the season. They host defending conference champion Shalom on Friday.
