SCOTLAND — Chambersburg came up with 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and handed a 4-2 defeat to Cumberland Valley’s ace, Ryan Rudrow, in a Mid Penn Commonwealth baseball game Tuesday afternoon at Green Township Park.
The Eagles (13-4, 10-3 MPC) were ranked No. 2 in the District 3 Class 6A. The Trojans had fallen to No. 11 (the top 10 get in), but this win could put them back into 10th.

“Yeah, you could say this was our best game of the year,” Chambersburg coach Scott Folmar said. “We played clean on defense, we got a great pitching outing and we finally got some key hits when we needed to.”
CV scored one run in the first off starter Spencer Seaman, but the Trojans tied it in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Seaman.
The Eagles went back ahead 2-1 in the top of the sixth, but Chambersburg rallied. Max Armstrong walked and an out later, Luke Wetzel singled and that ended Rudrow’s day. Hayden Fry entered and Aaden Newman greeted him with a base hit to tie the game.

A base hit by Brady Hughes loaded the bases, then Kaden Hoover, who was 2-for-3, came through with a single that brought in a pair of runs.
Seaman pitched 6 innings for the win, allowing 6 hits and a walk. Elijah Snyder pitched the seventh and walked 2 batters, but got out of the inning with no runs scoring.
Folmar said, “Spencer doesn’t throw hard, but he throws strikes, and the defense played well behind him.”
