Emily Wenner pitched the Greyhounds to an opening day victory over Colonial power Greencastle-Antrim 7-2 at Greencastle Thursday.

Sami Barmont had three hits and a run batted in while Amber Orndorff and Jessica Lindsey each had two hits. Wenner, Orndorff, Lindsey, and Baille Jones each hit a double in the victory.

Wenner went all seven innings allowing six hits and two runs (1 earned) while striking out 6 and walking two batters.

The ‘Hounds scored three runs in the top of the first and never trailed. They led 5-0 before the Blue Devils got on the board.

Hannah Beeler had three hits for the Blue Devils.

Shippensburg (1-0) hosts Waynesboro Friday at 4:15pm in their home opener.
