Shippensburg baseball

Shippensburg dropped their opening game to the Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils 8-2 on Thursday.

The Blue Devils parlayed ten hits, and eight walks into their eight runs, seven in a fifth inning that broke open a tight ballgame.

Greencastle (1-0)  led 1-0 going into the fifth in a pitcher’s duel from Blue Devil starter Tanner Rock and the Greyhound starter. Seven runs later, the Devils had a run away win.

Jacob Frey led the Greyhounds with two hits, while Aaron Ross, Adam Maring, Scott Witter, and Nick Weltz each had hits in the game.

Shippensburg (0-1) travels to Waynesboro on Friday for a contest against the Indians in search of the initial victory of the young season.
