Shippensburg Swimming

The Greyhounds swept the rival Big Spring Bulldogs on Tuesday afternoon at Big Spring with scores of Shippensburg girls 121 Bulldogs 65. The men won their meet 102-84.

The Greyhounds won all but two events in the two meets. For the girls side, Madison Osanitsch, Makenna Morris and Julia Strine won two events and participated in two relay winners. Madelyn Facchinei won three events and finished in second place in the 100 breaststroke to teammate Strine. Teddi Powell finished first in the 100 fly and third in the 200 IM and participated in 2 winning relays.

For the distaff side, Caleb Eveland and Elijah Zinn won two events and participated in two relay wins.

Sam Nonemaker was the highlight as he set a school record in the 100 breaststroke at 1:03.29. This came a night after he set a school record in the 100 fly against Gettysburg. He also participated in two winning relays. Kaiden Estep won the 500 free, finished second in the 200 IM and participated in two winning relays.

“I thought we swam some good times today,” Greyhound coach Jeff Kaminski said. “We were able to move some people around last night against Gettysburg so we were a bit fresher today. Sam (Nonemaker) set a school record in the 100 breast tonight and he set a record last night in the 100 fly. We are getting where we need to be for the post season.

The Greyhounds will celebrate Senior Night Thursday at 6:00 PM against Mechanicsburg.
