Forbes Road 43 McConnellsburg 38

Forbes Road (6-4, 4-3 SHL, 4-2 ICC) hosted county rival McConnellsburg (2-7, 1-5 SHL, 1-5 ICC) and came away with a 43-38 win. Grayson Hall led the Cardinals and all scorers with 17 points. Talon Blair added 9 points, Brycen Hohman had 8 points and 12 rebounds, and Logan Deshong chipped in 6 points. The Spartans were led by Lucas McClain’ 9 points. Dom Reed had 8 points, Cale Harman added 7 points, and Garrett Bunch had 6 points. Cardinal Coach Trent Black said, “We put together a solid first half, but didn’t adjust well to McConnellsburg’s defensive switch in the second half.  We struggled to score, and McConnellsburg hustled their way back into the game.  Fortunately we took care of the ball just well enough late and made a few free throws to preserve the win.  We’ve been lucky to win a few ugly ones here lately, but we need to put four quality quarters together to reach our goals.” The Spartans will travel to Cumberland Valley Christian on Saturday (1/20) and Forbes Road will host Southern Huntingdon on January 22.
