Chambersburg wrestling team beats New Oxford

CHAMBERSBURG — Chambersburg held a big lead, lost it to a New Oxford comeback, but captured the final two bouts to pull out a 31-26 non-league wrestling victory Wednesday night at the CASHS Auxiliary Gym.

With the team trailing 26-23, Trojan 120-pounder Anthony Colangelo scored a takedown and nearfall in the first period and another takedown in the third to take a 7-4 lead, and hung on to win 7-6 over Austin Brotherton.

Cole Grove then broke the 26-26 tie with a dominating 15-0 technical fall at 126 pounds to win the match for Chambersburg (4-1).

After spotting the Colonials a 3-0 lead, the Trojans scored 23 consecutive points, getting a pin from Luke Nichter (170), major decisions from Drake Brenize (160) and Guy Lozius (182) and decisions from Spencer Runshaw (138), Carson Mello (145) and Tate Nichter (145).
