CVCS falls to Frederick Warriors

The Frederick Warriors pulled away in the second half and handed the Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers a 69-55 loss in a non-league basketball game Tuesday evening.

Freshman Caleb Eckert led the Blazers (4-6) with 15 points, while senior Jesus Pena added 14 and junior Eli Black scored 12. Eckert pulled down 11 rebounds, and Pena contributed six assists and four steals. Ben Thurman led Frederick with 22 points.

The Blazers pulled within 43-37 when freshman Blaine Minnier drilled a 3-pointer right before halftime, but Frederick put together a 20-point third quarter to take a 63-50 lead.

“Offensively we had a good game, but we really need to step it up on defense,” Blazers coach Austin Sanders said.

The Blazers play at home Friday against Bedford Christian at 7:45.
