The Greyhounds return two top seniors in Mariah Martin and Kara Newell and they will be the focus of this year’s team. They will look to improve on last year’s 10-12 record and this team will need to stay healthy and focused to offset the rest of the team, which will be comprised of a large group of freshmen.

Martin and Newell need to pick up the scoring lost to the graduation of Liz Logan. Martin will provide the interior presence, rebounding, and scoring while Newell will run the floor and provide the leadership.

If the freshmen step up, this team is very capable of qualifying for the District playoffs and moving up in the Colonial Division standings.

Coach Andrew Markel will need those youngsters to work hard and not be intimidated by the scene and pressure. Either way, the future looks bright for the Greyhound program.
