Southern Fulton put together a strong all-around performance Thursday night, earning a straight-set victory over Fannett-Metal with scores of 25-8, 25-13 and 25-4.

Southern Fulton also had a strong night serving, collecting 24 aces and finishing with a 91.7% serving percentage. Hull led the team with 16 service points, followed by Layton and K. Hixon with 9 each. Murray added 8 points, while Sam Smith contributed 5.

With contributions coming from throughout the lineup, Southern Fulton showed strong offensive efficiency, serving consistency and net play in the victory. The Indians will look to carry that momentum into their next match as they travel to take on Berkeley Springs Monday, September 21st.

INDIANS FALL TO EVERETT IN THREE-SET MATCH

The Southern Fulton Indians traveled to Everett on Wednesday, September 16, for a tough conference matchup, falling to the Warriors in three sets, 9-25, 21-25, 11-25.

Southern Fulton battled throughout the match and showed strong contributions from several players. Sophomore Bailey Hull led the Indians with eight kills, 4 blocks and 6 digs; while freshman Brelyn Reiter added seven kills, 1 block and 2 service points. Freshman Avery Bivens contributed four kills, 2 blocks and 5 digs and sophomore Kinley Layton and senior Elsie Murray each recorded three kills. Senior Lakyin Hixson played a strong defensive game for the Indians, recording 9 digs and helping keep rallies alive with solid back-row play while Kennedy Hixon recorded 18 assists from the setter position, helping lead the Southern Fulton offense and create scoring opportunities for her teammates throughout the match.

From the service line, Southern Fulton recorded eight aces. Sophomore Kennedy Hixon led the team with two aces, while Layton, Reiter, L. Hixon, Murray, and Bivens each contributed one.

Despite the loss, the Indians showed improvement and determination, particularly in the second set, where they battled Everett to a 21-25 finish. Southern Fulton will look to regroup and continue building as they face Fannett-Metal for a home matchup on Thursday, September 17th.
