Chambersbug goes 1-1: The Trojans played in the York Suburban tournament on Saturday and ended up taking third place. Chambersburg was edged 2-1 by Conrad Weiser in the first game and then trounced James Buchanan 15-0 in the consolation game.

The Trojans (3-2) got on the board first against the Scouts when Jayden Mendoza hit a shot from the outside of his foot that rolled into the net. But Weiser scored twice in the second half to pick up the win.

Chambersburg coach Marc Furfaro said, “They were a good team, but we crumbled a little in the second half. I know we can play better than we did. Passing, first touches, decision making wasn’t the best today and they punished us for it, as good teams do.

“We have to prove we can play against these good teams, though, so we’ll have to figure that out. Lots of season left, so no worries.”
