Greencastle takes 1st place: The Blue Devils put it together in the final Colonial tournament of the season, at Chambersburg Country Club on Tuesday afternoon, defeating Chambersburg by 9 strokes to finish with a 19-11 record, good for third in the division.
“I was super proud of the win today,” Greencastle coach Jeremy Eby said. “It was a great team effort and a great way to go into the postseason play.”
For the Blue Devils, Landon Summers tied for third overall with a 78, while Bryce Davidson and Camden Eby each shot a 6-over par 79 to lead the way. Jex McDowell (85) also counted in the scoring.
For the Trojans, their second-place finish was their best of the season and they finished 9-21. Kole Peiffer fired a 4-over 77 to place second, while Lehman shot 78 to tie for third place and Joel Jennings shot an 81 to tie for eighth.
Shippensburg Kaydee Beckenbaugh was the overall medalist for the first time this season, carding a 3-over par 76. Kaden Ramsey shot an 85, as the Greyhounds were fourth Tuesday and had a 12-18 season record.
Waynesboro finished the season 4-26 record as Caiden Shacreaw shot 82 on Monday. Gettysburg and Northern each finished with records of 23-7 to tie for first place for the season.
In addition to Beckenbaugh, Waynesboro’s Abby Byers shot a 92 and Chambersburg’s Abby Rensch posted a 97 among the girls.
