Mid Penn Colonial: Chambersburg produced its best effort of the season on Tuesday afternoon at Range End, but it wasn’t quite enough to catch the host team, Northern York, and Gettysburg in a Mid Penn Colonial match.

The Trojans (5-20) scored 315 strokes, while Northern had 310 and Gettysburg 311, for their best finish of the season.

“The kids came to play today and put it together better than they had been,” Trojan coach Mark Yost said. “We had a heart-to-heart talk recently and today I think they played a little smarter and didn’t let things bother them as much as they had been.”

For Chambersburg, Mason Lehman shot a 5-over par 76 to finish in a tie for sixth place. The other scorers included Kole Peiffer (78), Talan Martin (80) and Joel Jennings (81).

Yost said, “Kole has been Mr. Consistent, with all of his scores between 78-82. Mason did a nice job — after starting 3-over par on his first two holes, he was only 2-over on his last 16.”

Greencastle-Antrim (14-11) placed fourth with 320, Shippensburg (10-15) had 325 and Waynesboro (4-21) had 328 strokes and was sixth.

Gettysburg’s Parker Tokar shot 72 to win the tournament. Ship’s Kaden Ramsey and G-A’s Jex McDowell each shot 75 to tie for fourth.

For the Blue Devils, Camden Eby shot 78, Jackson Sobol had a 79 and Bryce Davidson posted an 80. Caiden Shacreaw shot 78 for the Indians.

Kaydee Beckenbaugh was the top girls player with an 81, besting ‘Boro’s Abby Byers (85) and the Greyhounds’ Genevieve Bennttt (97).
