H.S. golf roundup: Gettysburg wins home match

MID PENN COLONIAL: Gettysburg and Northern York finished 1-2, relegating the four Franklin County schools to the lower part of the standings in a Mid Penn Colonial golf match at Gettysburg National on Monday afternoon.

Among the local schools, Waynesboro (4-11) had its best showing todate, taking third with 332 strokes, 1 off tying Northern for second. Greencastle-Antrim (8-7) placed fourth with 342, Shippensburg (7-8) had 352 and Chambersburg (1-14) placed sixth.

Greencastle’s Camden Eby and Ship’s Kaden Ramsey each carded a 6-over par 78 to tie for fourth place, and three area players — the Greyhounds’ Kaydee Beckenbaugh and Waynesboro’s Caiden Shacreaw and Landon Crable — each posted a 79 to place in a tie for sixth.

Also for the Blue Devils, Bryce Davidson shot 81 (tied for 10th) and Bryce Wilhide scored 83 (14th).

Chambersburg’s top players were Kole Peiffer, who shot an 80 to place 9th, and Mason Lehman had an 82 to tie for 12th.

In addition to Beckenbaugh, two other area girls scored well — ‘Boro’s Abby Byers shot 88 and the Trojans’ Abby Rensch shot 94.
