SoFo Indians (14-2, 5-2) lost to McConnellsburg Spartans 6-2 on Tuesday at Southern Fulton Junior/Senior High School.
McConnellsburg opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to three singles. The Spartans first got on the board when Shaffer Earley singled, scoring one run.
SoFo scored one run in the bottom of the third on a solo home run to left field by Austin Mann.
Kaden Marpoe earned the win for McConnellsburg. The right-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and two runs (one earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out two and walking three. Colt Mann took the loss for SoFo. The righty went six innings, allowing four runs (one earned) on seven hits, striking out four and walking three.
Mann, Paul Hendershot, Kaden Saunders, and Mann each collected one hit for SoFo Indians. Mann went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
Gavin DeShong led McConnellsburg Spartans with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The second baseman went 1-for-4 on the day. Marpoe and Earley each collected two hits for McConnellsburg.
SoFo will travel to Forbes Road High School for their next game on Thursday at 4:30pm.
